Sometimes I go through a phase of just not having anything noteworthy to say. Or I do, but I can’t figure out how to word it. A lot of people call it writer’s block. Well for about a month and a half, I’ve had some major writer’s block. I’d write up a post, save it and then normally delete it just because it didn’t do my days any justice. So here’s what’s been happening. I’ve been working 5 days a week at The Seas with Nemo and friends in Epcot. ^_^ future world east, yeaaaah! 🙂 In my time there so far, I’ve learned a few things:
- People can be rude.
- Directions are rarely, if ever, listened to.
- Tour groups are any cast members worst nightmare.
- Scooters are a pain to push around and running over your own feet is inevitable.
- People can also be very nice.
- Girls of all ages love being called princess.
- Going out of your way to make a guest happy can make you really happy too.
I genuinely enjoy going to work. I have hilarious coworkers and coordinators that make the time fly by. The hours aren’t too bad and definitely give me time to do a lot of other things. On my days off, I normally end up meeting with people to go to the parks. It is way too much fun to be able to go to a Disney park whenever you want. My parents came and visited for a week and I gave them the full Disney parks experience complete with waking up at the crack of dawn to go wait in line and the best dining places on property. Speaking of dining, let’s talk about foood. Oh man the food here is fabulous. I am seriously spoiled with a wide array of places to choose from on and off property. Disney prices are high but if you share with someone it isn’t too bad. Sometimes I treat myself and go all out with a good beer and a dessert but that’s a rare affair. I’ve tried so many new things since being here. For example, last night, my coworker and I went to Sanaa which is an African/Indian style restaurant at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I tried bison for the first time and it was delicious! I also had fresh and delicious naan bread. The prices were not too bad for such good food. Other than eating out, I eat very plain foods at home. It’s really too hot to cook anything extravagant so I normally stick with raw veggies, oatmeal, fruit, sandwiches and the occasional mac&cheese. 😛
In terms of running, I’ve recently committed to the challenge of running at least one mile every day for as long as possible. Hopefully for at least a year. 🙂 Today was day 10 and my legs felt pretty awesome. I’ve improved my pace a lot since being here and my knee feels infinitely better. It also helps that I bought new brooks glycerins that I love! 🙂 I have a few races coming up in the fall that I want to be really prepared for. 🙂
So that’s been my life in a nutshell. Eating, sleeping (very little), running, working and living it up! 🙂
